Code of Conduct

SECTION 1: ADMISSION, ENROLLMENT, FEES AND REFUNDS

1.1 Enrollment and Registration

  • Enrolling in RPI programs signifies your commitment to:
    • Timely payment of all fees
    • Compliance with all program requirements
  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration. Misrepresentation may result in termination of enrollment.
  • Upon successful registration, students will receive a letter of admission.

1.2 Payment and Fees

  • Tuition and all associated fees must be paid according to the specified payment schedule.
  • All payments are non-refundable, except as explicitly outlined in the Refund Policy.

Official Documents

  • Free of charge:
    • Recommendation letters
    • Attachment/internship letters
    • Letters of proof
  • Subject to a fee:
    • Letters to immigration authorities
    • Reprints of student ID cards
    • Official transcripts
    • Certificates (duplicate or replacement)
    • Any other official school documents requested after loss

1.3 Refund Policy

RPI operates under a strict “No Refund” Policy:

  • Once payments are made for tuition, fees, or any other charges, they are non-refundable.
  • Prospective students are strongly encouraged to review all program details, costs, and commitments before enrolling and making payment.
  • By proceeding with payment, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.

Exceptional Circumstances:
In rare cases, RPI may consider refunds or credits at its sole discretion for:

  • Program cancellations by RPI
  • Documented extenuating circumstances (e.g., serious medical issues, force majeure)

Such requests will be evaluated case-by-case in accordance with institute policies.

2.1 Privacy and Data Protection

  • RPI collects, uses, and processes personal data in accordance with:
    • Applicable Ghanaian data protection laws
    • RPI’s Privacy Policy
  • Personal data will be used solely for educational, administrative, and legal purposes.
  • Students have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their data in line with legal requirements.

2.2 Health and Safety

  • All members of the RPI community must:
    • Follow all health and safety guidelines
    • Report hazards or unsafe conditions promptly
  • RPI is committed to maintaining a secure and conducive learning environment.
  • Failure to comply with safety protocols may result in disciplinary action.

2.3 Communication

  • Students must:
    • Regularly check official RPI communication channels (email, portal, notices)
    • Keep their contact information up to date
    • Respond promptly to important announcements
  • RPI is not liable for missed communications due to outdated or incorrect contact details.

2.4 Changes to Programs and Services

  • RPI may modify, update, or discontinue programs, courses, or services as deemed necessary.
  • Students will be notified of significant changes through official communication channels.
  • RPI is not obligated to provide refunds due to such changes unless the program is fully cancelled.

2.5 Limitation of Liability

  • RPI is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from:
    • Use of RPI programs or services
    • Attendance at RPI activities
    • Reliance on information provided by RPI

This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law.

2.6 Governing Law and Compliance

  • This Code of Conduct is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
  • All students and staff must:
    • Abide by all local, national, and applicable laws
    • Comply with regulations while representing RPI
    • Engage only in lawful and ethical conduct
  • Violations of law may result in disciplinary action by RPI and/or legal proceedings.

3.1 Academic Integrity

Students must uphold academic honesty and integrity in all:

  • Coursework
  • Assignments
  • Examinations
  • Assessments

Core Principles

  • Uphold the principles of academic honesty and integrity in all coursework, assignments, and assessments.
  • Avoid plagiarismcheating, and any form of academic dishonesty.

Penalties

  • Any student found cheating in an exam:
    • That particular paper will be cancelled
    • The student will pay GHC 200 for a resit
  • Any student who fails a particular paper:
    • The student will pay GHC 200 for a resit

Conduct Expectations

  • Adhere to the institute’s Code of Conduct, promoting respectful behavior and responsible conduct.

Lecturer Conduct

  • Lecturers are not allowed to take money from any student for any reason whatsoever.
  • Students are encouraged to report such acts immediately to management.

3.2 Respectful Behavior

  • Treat everyone with courtesy, respect, and empathy, regardless of:
    • Background, beliefs, opinions, or identity
  • Engage in open and constructive communication, valuing diverse perspectives.
  • Promote an inclusive environment free from hostility or intimidation.

3.3 Non-Discrimination and Harassment

RPI is committed to a discrimination-free and harassment-free environment.

  • No discrimination, harassment, or bullying based on:
    • Race, gender, religion, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, age, or other protected characteristics
  • Any incidents must be reported promptly.
  • Retaliation against those who report in good faith is strictly prohibited.

3.4 Campus Facilities and Property

  • Use all RPI facilities and property responsibly.
  • Do not damage property, misuse equipment, or tamper with safety systems.
  • Keep the campus clean and conducive for learning.
  • Vandalism or misuse may result in financial liability and disciplinary action.

3.5 Termination of Enrollment

RPI reserves the right to terminate a student’s enrollment for:

  • Violations of this Code of Conduct
  • Academic misconduct (e.g., cheating, plagiarism)
  • Disruptive, abusive, or unsafe behavior
  • Non-payment of fees
  • Providing false or misleading information

Termination decisions are final and at the discretion of RPI management.

4.1 Grievance and Complaint Resolution Policy

RPI is dedicated to addressing concerns and complaints fairly and in a timely manner.

Scope:
This policy covers issues related to academics, behavior, staff conduct, services, or any matter affecting the RPI community.

Process:

  1. Report: Submit a written complaint to the designated office.
  2. Acknowledgment: RPI will acknowledge receipt within a specified timeframe.
  3. Investigation: A fair and impartial investigation will be conducted.
  4. Resolution: A decision and necessary actions will be communicated.
  5. Appeal: Students may appeal decisions in accordance with RPI’s appeal process.

This Code of Conduct may be updated periodically. Students will be notified of significant changes through official RPI channels.
